SVCUG Year End Announcement

posted Dec 13, 2010, 9:37 AM by Daniel Segovia

Well – another year gone. I would like to thank everyone for attending and I only hope that the group helps you in your networking technology interests. Everyone certainly put a lot of effort into it and it showed. I would especially like to thank the officers for all their help this year – they really stepped up during my absence and I’m deeply appreciative of that.

Great Job to the two December SVCUG HotSeat volunteers and good luck on your exams. You really showed a great deal of knowledge and HotSeats are always a two-way learning experience so thank you for volunteering and contributing to our growth.

We will be resuming SVCUG Monthly Meeting next year starting – and I’ll be renaming them to SVCUG Tech Talks. Monthly Meeting sounds too much like in-house maintenance. I’ll be updating the SVCUG Calendar tonight with the 2011 Saturday Lab schedule.

A VERY SPECIAL THANKS to Duleep – our very own 2010 Santa Clause. Duleep came by on our final Saturday Lab of the year and gave away a dozen peieces of his very own personal Cisco equipment to SVCUG members. Thanks Duleep – I think your heart grew three sizes this year. ;)

Again, thanks to everyone who makes this group possible, be safe this holiday season and see you next year.

EBCUG Meeting Announcement - 11/11/10

posted Nov 11, 2010, 11:37 AM by Svcug Admin

Hey team,
As you know, the East Bay Cisco User Group (EBCUG) is a Bay Area partner CUG of ours and for anyone interested, I'm forwarding a meeting announcement of theirs. See below:

Hello EBCUG Members,

Ad hoc IPv6 Lab tonight at Peak IP Solutions Office, Pleasanton

Tonight’s meeting will be an ad hoc meeting.  The goal after last meeting was to do an IPv6 lab with some Cisco gear.  Unfortunately we do not have a structured lab put together as I have been out of town a lot since we met last.  We will therefore work together collaboratively on creating that lab at our office on our lab gear.  Please bring a laptop and serial cable if you wish to participate.  We will whiteboard the design goals and then build it.  It may require more effort beyond tonight but since we are at our office we can go as late as we would like.  We have several 28xx, 29xx routers and 35xx switches to work with along with some IP phones we can configure as clients.

Please REPLY to me directly if you plan on coming so I can get an accurate count for food.  We can start at 6pm and go till  we want to quit.   We have done this in the past and had a lot of fun.

Our office is one block away from the Cisco Office at 4683 Chabot Drive, Suite 380, Pleasanton, CA 94588.  925-337-8653 is our number in the conference room.  We are on the 3rd floor.

Thank you,

Doug
